Flea Spier's work interrogates intangible presence, the everyday and autobiographical narrative.

Through spoken word, colloquial dialect and poetry they explore the beauty and brutality of everyday life. With writing, collage and drawing being where their practice originates, they push the work through installation, sculpture and moving image. Ambient sound, conversation/dialect and field recordings often create figurative landscapes within the work, reflective of their upbringing in Newport, South Wales. The work straddles fiction and reality merging mundanity of the everyday and the surreal.

Multi-disciplinary and conceptual in nature, the work actualises from found objects and ephemera. Spiers draws from archival materials to manufacture narratives and distil personal experience.
