Operating within a new-materialist ontology, my interdisciplinary practice consolidates sculptural media, cultivated flora and displaced technologies to generate lively outcomes, investigating ideas of material liveliness through ephemeral, bioplastic matter. Through these fabrications, I reflect on artistic objects as agential forces, critiquing the authority an artist holds to displace non-human matter. 

Informed by the Bioart movement, I choose to relinquish a level of control to the non-human operatives within my work. Situated within a quasi-scientific narrative, my sculptural forms assume a creature-like status, where processes like biodegradation and plant growth may operate, likening them to transient organisms.  

Tension emerges through my desire to maintain my sculptures’ integrity, employing man-made devices to extend their lifespan, exemplified in Maintain and Nurture 2026. Alongside my primary works, I seek to immortaliseephemeral sculpture through archival pieces – presenting as the scientific documentation of a living being.
